The opportunity: Employee Relations & HR Compliance Specialist

The Employee Relations Team is focused on building programs and operations - from strategy to execution - to support and fuel our exciting growth plans and support our global Flexporter team.
As an Employee Relations & Compliance Specialist, you will partner cross functionally with the People, Legal and Compliance teams to deliver best in class employee experience relating to HR Compliance and Employee Relations issues.
You will:
Support Employee Relations and HR Compliance initiatives in order to provide an exceptional employee experience in all ER and HR Compliance matters. You will be a resource to different work groups such as People Business Partners (PBPs), People Partners, and business leadership across all areas of the Company.
- Compliance
- Manage Workers’ Compensation Claims from end to end
- Partner with People Benefits team to administer Return To Work programs for LOAs and manage the Interactive Process for all return to work medical accommodation requests
- Oversee HR Compliance Training in partnership with L&D team to ensure compliance with global regulations including Code of Conduct, Preventing Harassment, DEIB, Data Privacy (e.g. GDPR & CCPA)
- Stay current on North American (NAM) labor law updates and make recommendations for changes to the NAM Employee Handbooks and organizational policies, guidelines and standards
- Employee Relations
- Manage ER investigations for high-risk employee complaints related to policy, values, cultural concerns, harassment, discrimination and retaliation, independently or in collaboration with managers, peers in HR and Legal and escalate to Sr. Manager as appropriate
- Recommend appropriate action/solutions for individual investigations to stakeholders
- Track all workplace investigations to identify trends using available data to provide organization-wide or client-specific interventions
- Partner with People Partners and PBPs to resolve or escalate less risky ER investigations and employee concerns as needed
- Utilize software to house sensitive ER Files/forms, etc. Identify areas for improvement in software capabilities
- Create, modify and update ER and HR Compliance workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
- Work on other projects as assigned to enable Flexporters to thrive
You should have:
- Bachelor’s degree in HR Management or related field
- 4+ years of hands-on HR experience with at least 2 years conducting employee relations investigations, and HR Compliance including Workers’ Compensation claims management experience
- Strong working knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws (EEO, FLSA, FMLA/CFRA/NYPFL, ADA, OSHA, NLRB)
- Excellent incident investigation skills and conflict resolution skills
- Proficiency with Google Workspace or MS Office Suite skills and ability to incorporate new technologies quickly
- Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem solving abilities
